Addiction the fore-runner of isolation

ADDICTION – The fact or condition of been addicted to a particular substance or activity with the need or strong desire to have that which liking has been created towards.

Addictions come in different forms from Music, reading, playing video games and so on but we want to focus on something serious though we never take it too serious, this is Addiction to TV (Gadgets).
Now the television is a means of getting information, entertainment and a whole lot more. It plays a very good role in our today society, but what happens when it turns to our daily routine or life style, what happens when we cannot stop ourselves from watching TV, this I believe brings us to what is called TV Addiction.

According to Wikipedia, Addiction is a brain disorder characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli despite adverse consequences. In other words, Addiction is a disorder of the brains reward system which arises through transcriptional and epigenetic organisms and occurs over time from chronically high levels of exposure to an addictive stimulus e.g., gambling, drug, alcohol, music, sexual intercourse etc.

Looking at II Perseverance as little things matters a lot   we would notice how addiction affected an innocent girl’s life which left her the way she is today I really encourage you all too kindly put her in your prayers. Going back to our course of today TV Addiction as well as electronic gadgets, looking closely we would find out that we watch more of TV than we relate with real with our society at large and as such killing our ability to socialize, stand an audience, be out spoken and some other adverse effects as a matter of fact it’s obvious to know that we lose more than we gain sitting and watching TV. Yes I agree it helps fight boredom, it helps combat loneliness but as they say too much of everything is not good if your only result in times like this is on gadgets what then happens when you find yourself without these things? I was talking to a friend the other day, he said “if I don’t use my phone for a month I would just Die” gush that nearly broke my heart I wanted to judge him by saying that was bad and I realized that I also fall victim of this, in the sense that if I don’t give out post I feel very uncomfortable within myself, restlessness takes the day invariable I have discovered that we all have our own separate addictions, small or big the only difference is that we are addicted to different things entirely but is this really a good development no matter how good your addiction may seem to be you and I are addicts to something.

In further discussions we would be looking at the various ways to curb addictions and mind you your contributions are welcomed you can like us on facebook facebook.com/verveardorfollow us on twitter @ververdor or send us a mail via our contacts.
